My name is Sarah Lou.

I'm a Cornwall based illustrator and author.

All my projects begin life in a sketchbook, with the help of my trusty army of coloured pencils. My work is a mixture of digital and traditional methods, I use watercolour paints, lino printing and create my own textures to collage into my pieces. I then develop my work further using procreate bringing it all together.

My art often features a soft, calming colour palette, inspired by my own experiences as an autistic artist and a love of sensory-friendly design. I aim to create illustrations that feel gentle, inclusive, and accessible to others who experience the world a little differently.

​

I graduated from Falmouth University in 2019 with a BA in Illustration, and since then, I’ve found my home here in Cornwall.

I enjoy working on a variety of projects, including picture books, advertising, and maps. If I'm not doing that I'm probably planning my next outdoor adventure in the mountains or climbing at my local bouldering gym!
